Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 ½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the tofu: In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Add the tofu cubes and toss gently to coat evenly. Sprinkle in the cornstarch and toss again until tofu is well coated.
- Bake the tofu: Spread the tofu on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For crispier tofu, use an air fryer at 375°F for 15–18 minutes.
- Pairs well with rice, roasted vegetables, or in wraps and salads.
- If you prefer less spice, reduce the black pepper to 1 teaspoon.
