Description

Bat Pudding Shots are a fun and spooky dessert perfect for Halloween parties. These chocolate pudding shots are enhanced with Rum Chata for a creamy kick, layered with crushed Oreo cookies, and decorated with chocolate-dipped Oreo ‘bat wings’ and candy eyes for a festive look. They are chilled to set and served in shot glasses, making them a unique and delicious treat for adults.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pudding

  • 1 box (5 – 6 ounces) Chocolate Jello Pudding mix
  • 1 cup Rum Chata
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Filling from 12 Oreo cookies

For Garnish

  • 12 Oreo cookies (halved and trimmed)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Almond Bark (melted)
  • 24 small candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pudding: Make the pudding according to the package directions, but substitute 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of Rum Chata for a creamy, boozy flavor. Stir well and place the pudding in the refrigerator to thicken and set.
  2. Prepare Oreo Filling: Place parchment paper on the counter and arrange 12 Oreo cookies. Carefully scrape out the cream filling and add it into the chilled pudding mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine the flavors.
  3. Cut the Oreo Wings: Using a sharp kitchen knife, cut each Oreo cookie in half. Then cut off the pointed end of each half to create a flat side, which will be used to stick to the shot glass as bat wings.
  4. Fill the Shot Glasses: Remove the pudding from the refrigerator and spoon the mixture into 12 shot glasses, filling each glass evenly.
  5. Attach the Oreo Wings: Melt the chocolate almond bark in the microwave in 15-second increments until smooth. Dip the flat side of each Oreo half in the melted chocolate and attach two wings (one on each side) on the outside of each shot glass to mimic bat wings.
  6. Chill and Decorate: Place the shot glasses on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow the chocolate to set. Using a small dab of melted chocolate as glue, attach two candy eyes onto each shot glass above the Oreo wings to complete the bat look. Return to the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Bring chilled Bat Pudding Shots to your party and enjoy this spooky, delicious treat perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife and handle Oreo cookies carefully to avoid breaking them unevenly.
  • The pudding needs to be chilled well to set properly and hold its shape in the shot glasses.
  • The Rum Chata adds alcohol and creaminess; substitute with milk or cream if you want a non-alcoholic version.
  • Ensure the melted chocolate is smooth for easy dipping and adhesion.
  • Store in the refrigerator and consume within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
