Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
French Toast
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 slices thick-cut sandwich bread
- 1 tablespoon butter
Toppings & Assembly
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup finely diced onions
- 8–10 pickle slices
- 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing (or Big Mac-style sauce)
- Sesame seeds (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with salt and pepper, breaking it into small crumbles until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- Prepare Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until combined.
- Dip the Bread: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated.
- Cook the French Toast: Melt butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook the dipped bread slices until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Place one slice of French toast on a plate, top with a slice of American cheese, a portion of cooked ground beef, shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickle slices, and a generous drizzle of Thousand Island dressing.
- Finish and Serve: Top with the second slice of French toast. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Slice the sandwich and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a more authentic Big Mac flavor, try making your own sauce by mixing mayonnaise, mustard, relish, vinegar, and spices.
- Using brioche or Texas toast instead of regular sandwich bread creates a sturdier, richer base.
- You can double-stack the beef patties for an extra hearty, filling sandwich.
