Description

A refreshing and nutritious blueberry banana smoothie made with fresh or frozen blueberries, ripe banana, creamy vanilla Greek yogurt, milk, and rolled oats. Perfect for a quick breakfast or snack, this smoothie is naturally sweetened and can be made creamier with ice cubes.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup fresh OR frozen blueberries

Dairy & Liquids

  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Other

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional if you need more sweetness)
  • 4 ice cubes (optional for a creamier/colder smoothie; recommended if using fresh blueberries)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Place all ingredients in a blender. Make sure to add the banana, blueberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, milk, rolled oats, and if desired, maple syrup and ice cubes to ensure the smoothie is creamy and well mixed.
  2. Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy. This usually takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on your blender. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed to achieve an even consistency.
  3. Serve: Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture, or chill in the fridge for up to 2 hours before serving if you prefer a colder smoothie.

Notes

  • Use frozen blueberries to make the smoothie naturally cold without adding ice cubes.
  • Maple syrup is optional and can be omitted if your fruit is ripe enough to provide natural sweetness.
  • You can substitute vanilla Greek yogurt with plant-based yogurt for a dairy-free option.
  • Rolled oats add fiber and make the smoothie more filling.
  • Adjust milk quantity for desired thickness.
