A refreshing and nutritious blueberry banana smoothie made with fresh or frozen blueberries, ripe banana, creamy vanilla Greek yogurt, milk, and rolled oats. Perfect for a quick breakfast or snack, this smoothie is naturally sweetened and can be made creamier with ice cubes.
Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 1 banana
- 1 cup fresh OR frozen blueberries
Dairy & Liquids
- 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
Other
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional if you need more sweetness)
- 4 ice cubes (optional for a creamier/colder smoothie; recommended if using fresh blueberries)
Instructions
- Prep: Place all ingredients in a blender. Make sure to add the banana, blueberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, milk, rolled oats, and if desired, maple syrup and ice cubes to ensure the smoothie is creamy and well mixed.
- Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy. This usually takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on your blender. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed to achieve an even consistency.
- Serve: Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture, or chill in the fridge for up to 2 hours before serving if you prefer a colder smoothie.
Notes
- Use frozen blueberries to make the smoothie naturally cold without adding ice cubes.
- Maple syrup is optional and can be omitted if your fruit is ripe enough to provide natural sweetness.
- You can substitute vanilla Greek yogurt with plant-based yogurt for a dairy-free option.
- Rolled oats add fiber and make the smoothie more filling.
- Adjust milk quantity for desired thickness.
