Description

This refreshing Blueberry Iced Tea combines the natural sweetness of fresh blueberries with the bold flavor of black tea and a zesty splash of lemon juice. Perfectly chilled and lightly sweetened, it’s an ideal drink to cool down on warm days, garnished with fresh mint for an aromatic touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

Fruit & Flavorings

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberries: Rinse blueberries under cool water and pat dry carefully to remove any debris or dirt.
  2. Steep Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan, then remove from heat and steep the 3 black tea bags for 5 minutes to infuse the water with robust tea flavor.
  3. Add Sweetener: While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the fresh blueberries and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the warm tea mixture. Let this mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the blueberries to infuse their juice.
  5. Chill and Serve: Fill a pitcher with ice cubes and pour the blueberry-tea mixture over the ice. Stir gently to chill the drink thoroughly.
  6. Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the iced tea in glasses filled with ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves and a few floating blueberries for an appealing presentation and refreshing aroma.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar level to make the tea less or more sweet depending on your taste.
  • If fresh blueberries are unavailable, frozen blueberries can be used; just thaw them before adding.
  • For a stronger blueberry flavor, muddle some blueberries slightly before adding to the tea.
  • Mint leaves are optional but add a wonderful refreshing aroma and flavor as a garnish.
  • The tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; stir before serving.
