Description

This Caprese Chicken recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines tender chicken breasts with the classic flavors of Caprese salad. Juicy tomatoes, creamy fresh mozzarella, and aromatic basil come together to create a mouthwatering meal that is perfect for any night of the week.

Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Caprese Topping:

  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves


Instructions

  1. Pound and Season Chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness and season both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  3. Add Caprese Topping: Reduce heat to low, then top each piece of chicken with tomato slices and mozzarella slices. Cover the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the cheese melts.
  4. Finish and Serve: Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and Italian herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • If you don’t have balsamic glaze, reduce balsamic vinegar over low heat until thickened.
