Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Sticks
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (cut into halves or quarters)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut the dough into strips approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches long using a knife or pizza cutter.
- Add Fillings: Place a few pepperoni slices in the center of each dough strip, then sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Form Sticks: Fold the dough strips over the cheese and pepperoni to create little pockets. Pinch the edges tightly to seal and form stick-like shapes to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the sealed pizza sticks on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart to allow even baking.
- Egg Wash and Seasoning: Brush each pizza stick with the beaten egg wash, then evenly sprinkle Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and garlic powder on top for extra flavor and a golden finish.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the sticks turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove the pizza sticks from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with the pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
- Ensure edges are sealed well to prevent cheese from oozing out during baking.
- Use homemade dough for a fresher taste or any preferred pizza dough brand.
- These can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
