This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for a cozy family dinner or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 3 cups fully cooked shredded chicken
- 1 package ranch dressing mix
- 2 green onions, chopped
Sauce
- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
- 8 ounce package cream cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Make the Creamy Sauce: In a medium pot, combine the canned cream of chicken soup and cream cheese. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the cream cheese is fully melted and smoothly blended into the soup. Stir in the ranch dressing mix, then remove the pot from heat.
- Mix Filling: Reserve one cup of the prepared sauce for later use. Add the remaining sauce into a medium mixing bowl along with the shredded chicken and chopped green onions. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients well.
- Assemble Crescent Rolls: Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles. Scoop a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Fold the long point of the dough over the filling and wrap it around to form a sealed packet. Place each filled crescent roll seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
- Add Reserved Sauce: Pour the reserved 1 cup of sauce evenly around the chicken-filled crescent rolls in the baking dish. This will keep the rolls moist and add extra flavor as they bake.
- Bake Until Golden: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown on top. Remove from oven and serve warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding shredded cheese to the filling mixture.
- Use leftover cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- You can substitute cream of mushroom soup if preferred.
- Make sure to seal the crescent rolls well to avoid filling leakage while baking.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
