Scale
Dough Ingredients
- 1 package Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mixâ„¢
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
Additional Ingredients
- All-purpose flour (for dusting)
- Contents of the second Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix packet (for sprinkling)
Vanilla Drizzle
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine the Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix packet, softened butter, and egg. Knead the dough until it forms a smooth ball, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Roll out the dough: Lightly flour a silicone pastry mat or a large piece of parchment paper. Place the dough on the floured surface and roll it out to a 14×11-inch rectangle. Evenly sprinkle with the contents of the second Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix packet.
- Shape the dough log: Starting from the long end, use the pastry mat or paper to help roll the dough into a tight log shape. Press and smooth the dough as you roll, gently pulling the mat or paper away as you go to maintain the shape.
- Chill the dough: Cut the log in half and wrap each piece tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up the dough for easier slicing.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the swirls.
- Slice and prepare for baking: Remove the plastic wrap and carefully slice the logs into ¼-inch thick slices. Place the slices evenly spaced on a large baking sheet.
- Bake the swirls: Bake the cinnamon swirls in the preheated oven for 14-16 minutes until they turn golden and fragrant.
- Cool the baked swirls: Remove the tray from the oven and let the swirls cool on the pan for 1 minute. Then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Make the vanilla drizzle: In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whisk in the milk gradually until the icing reaches a smooth, drizzle-able consistency.
- Finish with drizzle: Once the cinnamon swirls have cooled, drizzle the vanilla icing over the top for a sweet and glossy finish.
Notes
- Ensure the dough is firm before slicing by chilling it well to maintain shape during baking.
- Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking while rolling.
- Store leftover cinnamon swirls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For extra flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the cinnamon sprinkle before rolling.
