Description

A creamy and flavorful Tahini Sauce that is easy to prepare and perfect as a dip, dressing, or drizzle. Made with tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and a hint of honey, this sauce is enhanced with toasted nuts for texture and a nutty aroma.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tahini, hulled
  • 2 1/2 – 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 garlic clove, pressed through garlic crusher or grated
  • 1/4 tsp cooking salt or kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper (substitute with black pepper if necessary)
  • 1 1/2 tsp honey, optional
  • 1/4 cup flaked almonds, pine nuts, or pistachios, toasted

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: Combine tahini, water, lemon juice, pressed garlic, salt, white pepper, and honey (if using) in a bowl. Stir well until all ingredients are smoothly incorporated into a loose, drizzly consistency.
  2. Rest and Meld Flavors: Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to blend harmoniously.
  3. Add Toasted Nuts: Just before serving, sprinkle the toasted flaked almonds, pine nuts, or pistachios on top of the tahini sauce to add texture and nutty flavor.

Notes

  • Use hulled tahini for a smoother texture and less bitterness.
  • Adjust water quantity to achieve desired sauce consistency.
  • Fresh lemon juice is preferred for bright flavor.
  • If white pepper is unavailable, black pepper can be used as a substitute.
  • Honey is optional but adds a nice subtle sweetness balancing the tang and bitterness.
  • Toast nuts lightly to enhance their flavor and crunch.
