Description

A hearty and comforting Crock-Pot recipe featuring Polska Kielbasa sausage simmered with pork and beans, sweet onion, and a flavorful blend of brown sugar, molasses, and spices. Perfect for an easy, slow-cooked meal that warms you up and satisfies.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage

  • 16 ounce Package of Polska Kielbasa

Beans and Vegetables

  • 4 cans Pork n beans (14 – 17 ounce cans)
  • 1 small sweet Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic

Seasonings and Sauces

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Ground Garlic Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Ground Mustard
  • 3 Tablespoons Black Strap Molasses
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kielbasa: Place the lid on the Crock Pot and turn it on to High heat. Open the package of Polska Kielbasa and slice it into round pieces. Place the sliced kielbasa pieces in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  2. Initial Cooking of Kielbasa: Let the kielbasa cook in the Crock Pot on High for about 45 minutes, then turn the pieces over and let them cook for another 15 minutes to develop flavor and start rendering the fat.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the pork and beans, chopped onion, minced garlic, brown sugar, garlic salt, dry ground mustard, black strap molasses, and ketchup to the Crock Pot with the kielbasa. Stir well to combine, mixing the kielbasa evenly with the beans and other ingredients.
  4. Cook Until Bubbly: Continue cooking the mixture on High heat until it is bubbling and thoroughly heated, about 4 to 5 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
  5. Keep Warm and Serve: Once bubbling and cooked through, stir well and turn the Crock Pot to Low or Keep Warm. Stir occasionally until ready to serve.
  6. Enjoy: Serve the kielbasa and beans hot for a comforting, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • For best flavor, slice the kielbasa evenly to ensure consistent cooking.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar and molasses to your taste.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, cook uncovered for the last hour to reduce liquid.
  • This recipe is great for meal prep and leftovers refrigerate well.
