Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients
- 20-25 mini pretzel twists or pretzel rods
Chocolate Coating
- White chocolate or candy melts in pastel colors (pink, blue, yellow, purple) – approximately 8-10 oz total
Decorations
- Easter sprinkles (pastel jimmies, nonpareils, or sugar pearls) – 1/4 cup
- Mini chocolate eggs or Easter-colored M&M’s – 1/4 cup
- Optional: Shredded coconut dyed green for “grass” effect – 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Prepare the Chocolate: Place the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each session until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. If using multiple colors, melt each color separately following the same method.
- Dip Mini Pretzel Twists: Take each mini pretzel twist and dip either halfway or fully into the melted chocolate. Lift and allow any excess chocolate to drip off, then place the dipped pretzels carefully onto a sheet of parchment paper for decorating.
- Dip Pretzel Rods: For pretzel rods, dip about halfway into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off before placing them onto parchment paper.
- Add Festive Decorations: While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle the pretzels with Easter-themed decorations such as pastel sprinkles, mini chocolate eggs, or colorful M&M’s. If using shredded coconut, dye it green beforehand and sprinkle on top to create a grass-like effect.
- Set the Chocolate: Allow the pretzels to dry completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by placing them in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is set, arrange your Easter Pretzels on a platter, pack them into treat bags, or add them to Easter baskets for a festive presentation.
Notes
- Be careful not to overheat the chocolate as it can seize or burn; heat in short intervals and stir frequently.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make clean-up easier.
- Dye shredded coconut using food coloring before sprinkling, if you want to add the grass effect.
- Store decorated pretzels in an airtight container at cool room temperature to maintain crispness.
- Customize decorations with leftover candies or other seasonal sprinkles as desired.
