Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Gravy:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (for gravy)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval-shaped patties.
  2. Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Gravy: Sauté sliced onions in the same skillet. Whisk together beef broth, cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Pour into the skillet with onions and simmer until thickened.
  4. Finish Cooking: Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cooked through. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
