- 1 tsp agar-agar (optional)
Wet Ingredients
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper to ensure the brownies don’t stick.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and agar-agar (if using) until well combined and evenly distributed.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, large eggs, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest until the mixture is smooth and cohesive.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry bowl and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep the brownies tender.
- Bake Brownies: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares for serving.
