Description

These French Dip Biscuits are a delicious twist on the classic French dip sandwich, featuring savory ground beef and gooey provolone cheese baked inside flaky biscuit cups. Serve them with au jus for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuits:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layer biscuits

For Assembly:

  • 8 slices provolone cheese, halved
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare Biscuit Cups: Flatten biscuit dough and press into greased muffin tin cups. Fill each with beef mixture and top with provolone.
  4. Bake: Bake for 15–17 minutes until golden.
  5. Prepare Au Jus: Mix au jus with water according to package instructions.
  6. Finish and Serve: Brush baked biscuits with butter, sprinkle parsley, and serve warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • You can swap ground beef for deli roast beef for a more traditional flavor.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Preheating the muffin tin can help achieve a crispier bottom.
