Description

This grilled chicken breast recipe features juicy, perfectly charred chicken served with a rich and creamy dill sauce. With simple seasonings and a refreshing herb sauce, it’s an easy and flavorful dish perfect for summer grilling or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Creamy Dill Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Set your grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the chicken breasts evenly and to achieve a nice char.
  2. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub each piece with olive oil, then season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Grill the chicken: Place the chicken breasts on the preheated grill. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes per side, turning once, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the chicken has a nicely charred exterior.
  4. Make the dill sauce: While the chicken grills, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped dill, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Rest the chicken: Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute for a tender bite.
  6. Serve: Plate the grilled chicken breasts and spoon a generous amount of creamy dill sauce over the top. Enjoy immediately with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables or a cucumber salad for a refreshing accompaniment.
  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream in the dill sauce to reduce fat and make a lighter version.
  • The creamy dill sauce can be prepared up to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator for convenience.
