Ingredients
Scale
For the Patties
- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
For the Sliders
- 6 slider-sized hamburger buns
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Pickle slices
- Mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the patties tender.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the beef mixture into 6 equal portions and gently shape each into small patties slightly larger than the slider buns, as they will shrink during cooking.
- Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 375°F to 400°F, ensuring it’s hot before cooking the patties.
- Grill the Patties (First Side): Place the patties on the hot grill, close the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them to develop a nice sear.
- Flip and Add Cheese: Turn the patties over, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese, then continue grilling for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts and the burgers reach your preferred doneness.
- Toast the Buns: In the last minute of cooking, place the slider buns cut-side down on the grill to toast lightly until golden brown.
- Assemble the Sliders: Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom halves of the buns. Add a leaf of lettuce, a cheeseburger patty, slices of tomato and onion, and pickle slices for a fresh finish.
- Finish and Serve: Top each slider with the bun halves, gently press to hold them together, serve immediately while warm, and enjoy with your favorite side dish.
Notes
- Do not overmix the beef to keep the patties juicy and tender.
- The patties should be slightly larger than the buns since they will shrink while cooking.
- Use medium-high heat on the grill to get a nice sear without drying out the burgers.
- Feel free to customize toppings or condiments according to your preference.
- To check doneness, use a meat thermometer; 160°F is recommended for ground beef.
