Ingredients
Scale
Biscuit Base
- 250g Tim Tam biscuits (or any chocolate-coated biscuits)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup desiccated coconut (optional, for added texture)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, for added crunch)
- 1/4 cup golden syrup or honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
Chocolate Topping
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Biscuit Base: In a large bowl, crush the Tim Tam biscuits into small pieces, but not to the point of crumbs. You can do this by using a food processor or by placing the biscuits in a zip-top bag and gently crushing them with a rolling pin.
- Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the melted unsalted butter and sweetened condensed milk. If desired, stir in the golden syrup or honey to enhance the sweetness and richness of the base.
- Mix Together: Pour the wet mixture over the crushed Tim Tam biscuits. Stir until the ingredients are well combined. If using, fold in the desiccated coconut and chopped nuts evenly through the mixture.
- Press into the Pan: Line a 9×9-inch square pan with parchment paper. Firmly press the biscuit mixture into the base of the pan to create an even layer. Place the pan in the refrigerator to set while preparing the chocolate topping.
- Make the Chocolate Topping: Place both milk and dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Assemble the Slice: Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the chilled biscuit base. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate smoothly over the entire surface.
- Chill and Set: Refrigerate the slice for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until the chocolate topping is completely set and firm to the touch.
- Serve: Once set, remove from the fridge and cut into squares or bars. Serve and enjoy this rich, chocolaty Tim Tam slice.
