Description

This Peach Lemonade Drink is a refreshing and vibrant summer beverage blending fresh peaches and tangy lemons into a perfectly sweetened, icy-cold treat. Ideal for warm weather, it combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with the zest of freshly squeezed lemon juice, making it a delightful thirst quencher for gatherings or casual sipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit and Juice

  • 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

Sweetener and Liquids

  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water

For Serving

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Peach slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare peaches: Wash the peaches thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or residue, then slice each peach in half and remove the pits. Cut the halves into smaller slices to facilitate blending.
  2. Blend peaches: Place the sliced peaches into a blender. For a smoother puree, optionally add a tablespoon of water. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds to one minute until smooth.
  3. Strain peach puree: Pour the blended peaches through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and skin, pressing with a spatula to extract as much juice as possible.
  4. Extract lemon juice: Roll the lemons on the countertop to release juices, then squeeze them to extract about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.
  5. Make lemonade base: In a separate pitcher, combine the strained lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  6. Add water and combine: Pour in the cold water and stir thoroughly to blend with the lemon-sugar mixture.
  7. Incorporate peach puree: Add the strained peach puree into the lemonade base in the pitcher and stir gently until fully integrated.
  8. Adjust sweetness and chill: Taste the peach lemonade and adjust by adding more sugar if too tart, or dilute with extra water if needed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  9. Serve: Fill glasses about three-quarters full with ice cubes, pour the chilled peach lemonade over the ice, then garnish with fresh peach slices and mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to your liking depending on the sweetness of the peaches and your taste preference.
  • For a smoother texture, blending peaches with a small amount of water helps create a more fluid puree.
  • Straining the peach puree removes skins and fibrous pulp for a clearer drink.
  • Chilling the lemonade for 1-2 hours significantly enhances the flavor by allowing it to meld.
  • Optional garnishes like fresh mint or peach slices add a beautiful, aromatic presentation.
  • Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled for the best vibrant flavor.
