Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound fresh shaved steak
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 – 12 pack sweet bread buns
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Butter Glaze
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (not ground)
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the sliders.
- Caramelize Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and green peppers, cooking them until they become soft and caramelized, which enhances their sweetness and flavor.
- Cook Steak: Add the shaved steak to the pan along with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the steak changes color to brown and is no longer red, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare Buns: Slice the sweet bread rolls horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half of the buns on a baking sheet to form the base.
- Assemble Sliders: Spread the cooked steak mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Layer the provolone cheese slices on top of the steak, then cover with the top halves of the buns.
- Apply Butter Glaze: Mix the melted butter, dried thyme, and Worcestershire sauce together. Brush this flavorful mixture generously over the tops of the buns to add richness and aroma during baking.
- Bake Sliders: Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake for 17-20 minutes until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted, ensuring a savory and satisfying finish.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use fresh shaved steak for the best texture and flavor consistency.
- Keep the buns intact when slicing horizontally to make assembly easier and the sliders less messy.
- Adjust salt and pepper according to your taste preferences.
- This recipe works well as party finger food or a casual meal.
- Leftover sliders can be reheated in a toaster oven to retain crispiness.
