Description

These Quesadilla Burgers are a delicious fusion of a classic cheeseburger and a Mexican quesadilla. Juicy burger patties are sandwiched between layers of melted cheese, salsa, guacamole, and more, all encased in a crispy tortilla. A flavorful and satisfying twist on traditional burgers!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

For Assembling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeño pepper thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Burger Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Cook the Burger Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side. Remove and keep warm.
  3. Assemble the Quesadilla Burgers: Melt butter in a clean skillet. Place a tortilla down, sprinkle with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Add a cooked burger patty, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, onions, cilantro, and jalapeño. Top with more cheese and another tortilla. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side.
  4. Serve: Cut each quesadilla burger into halves or quarters and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can swap the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken.
  • Add bacon, sautéed peppers, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicier kick.
