Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the nachos.
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Lightly coat a sheet pan with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
- Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
- Season Beef: Stir in chili powder, paprika, cumin, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper. Continue cooking for 2 minutes, stirring to incorporate all the spices. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Layer Chips: Arrange half of the tortilla chips evenly on the prepared sheet pan.
- Add Toppings: Distribute half of the cooked beef mixture, diced green pepper, red onion, black olives, and shredded cheeses over the chips.
- Repeat Layers: Add the remaining tortilla chips on top and layer with the rest of the beef, green pepper, red onion, black olives, and cheeses.
- Bake Nachos: Place the sheet pan in the oven and bake for 5 minutes or until the cheeses have fully melted and are bubbly.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Once baked, top the nachos with sliced jalapeño, diced Roma tomato, and fresh cilantro for a burst of fresh flavor.
- Serve: Serve the nachos hot with sides of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole for dipping and garnish.
Notes
- You can adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or fewer jalapeños and cayenne pepper.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with seasoned black beans or plant-based crumble.
- Use a sturdy sheet pan with edges to catch any melted cheese or toppings while baking.
- Feel free to add other toppings like corn, diced avocado, or pickled jalapeños according to preference.
- Serve immediately after baking to enjoy the nachos warm and crispy.
