Description

Sweet Honey Garlic Pork Chops are tender bone-in pork chops seared to a golden brown and baked in a flavorful homemade honey garlic sauce. This easy-to-make dish features a perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess, and a hint of spice, making it a delicious and satisfying meal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pork Chops

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Garnish

  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the pork chops after searing.
  2. Prepare Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture, ensuring a good sear.
  3. Heat Skillet: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  4. Sear Pork Chops: Once the oil is hot, carefully place the pork chops in the skillet and sear them for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Mix Sauce: While searing, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl and stir well.
  6. Remove Skillet from Heat: After searing, take the skillet off the heat.
  7. Add Sauce: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the pork chops, coating them evenly.
  8. Bake Pork Chops: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  9. Baste Pork Chops: During baking, occasionally spoon the sauce over the pork to keep them moist and flavorful.
  10. Rest Pork Chops: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes to retain their juices.
  11. Garnish: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the pork chops before serving.
  12. Serve: Serve the pork chops with the remaining sauce from the skillet.

Notes

  • For best results, use bone-in pork chops that are about 1-inch thick.
  • Use an oven-safe skillet such as cast iron for searing and baking.
  • Adjust crushed red pepper flakes to control spiciness.
  • Letting the pork chops rest ensures juices redistribute for tender meat.
  • You can substitute soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free version.
