Ingredients
Scale
Pork Chops
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Garnish
- 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the pork chops after searing.
- Prepare Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture, ensuring a good sear.
- Heat Skillet: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Sear Pork Chops: Once the oil is hot, carefully place the pork chops in the skillet and sear them for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Mix Sauce: While searing, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl and stir well.
- Remove Skillet from Heat: After searing, take the skillet off the heat.
- Add Sauce: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the pork chops, coating them evenly.
- Bake Pork Chops: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Baste Pork Chops: During baking, occasionally spoon the sauce over the pork to keep them moist and flavorful.
- Rest Pork Chops: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes to retain their juices.
- Garnish: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the pork chops before serving.
- Serve: Serve the pork chops with the remaining sauce from the skillet.
Notes
- For best results, use bone-in pork chops that are about 1-inch thick.
- Use an oven-safe skillet such as cast iron for searing and baking.
- Adjust crushed red pepper flakes to control spiciness.
- Letting the pork chops rest ensures juices redistribute for tender meat.
- You can substitute soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free version.
